Sadly, Rover is not intelligent. While it can make decisions and seems to move on its own, it moves through a set of instructions and must not move outside of those instructions. It is also not conscious because these decisions are being made without any thought. It is only moving because it is told so. AI still seems feasible but an approach where you cover every single thing that could happen like the way we did in this project is not the way to go about it. A better approach is to allow the AI to learn on its own given a set of tools that was coded by humans. Seeing how difficult this project was showed how difficult this could end up being.
